2. Short Story:  Your Journey and Aspirations
Your short story should be formatted as follows:  APA 7^th edition, Times New Roman font, 12 pt., double-spaced, 400-500 words.  MS Word or pdf document is acceptable.

Please describe your unique personal or interpersonal connection to breast cancer – yourself, family member, or significant person. What does this connection mean to you?
Please describe any involvement in breast cancer related activities such as extracurricular, volunteer, and advocacy initiatives.
Please describe the impact that this scholarship will have on the pursuit of your academic and career goals.
Please describe how you will approach the advocacy initiatives as a scholar, including specific advocacy areas of interest to you and your relevant talents, skills, and experiences.

3. Video: Your Voice of Impact
Please provide a three to four minute video, MP3 or MP4 format, in response to the following:
Please briefly introduce yourself and describe your association with breast cancer and any breast cancer volunteer activities if applicable. Then, respond to the following prompt:
If you had one opportunity (other than ending/curing cancer) to make a significant impact on the breast cancer community, what would you do? What would be the outcome(s)?

4. Letter of Recommendation
Please provide one professional letter of recommendation. The individual providing the professional letter of recommendation should submit it via email to scholarships@beyondpinkfoundation.org with the subject line: Recommendation for [Applicant’s Full Name].

5. Media Release Form
Please complete and submit the media release form. Applicants who are under the age of 18 will need a guardian/parent to complete the Minor Release section.

Student Advocate Scholarship Agreement
As a potential recipient (“the Scholar”) of the Beyond Pink Foundation (“the Foundation”) Student Advocate Scholarship, I acknowledge that the scholarship award is contingent upon the scholar’s active participation and completion of the advocacy initiatives and events as outlined below. I understand that the scholarship award will be disbursed to the scholar’s institution, in partial payment by semester. I understand that the scholarship award and coinciding disbursements are based on the following: 1) Maintaining enrollment and academic standing of a 3.0 GPA or higher for the academic year, and 2) Completing the advocate initiatives and events within the timelines as outlined below. The Foundation reserves the right to alter initiatives, events, and timelines based on reasonable requests of the scholar and/or organizational needs.
By signing this agreement, I understand and agree to the following Schedule of Advocate Initiatives and Events if I am awarded the Student Advocate Scholarship:

Schedule of Advocate Initiatives and Events for the 2026-2027 Academic Year Please submit the information requested below to scholarships@beyondpinkfoundation.org.

2026 Initiatives and Events

• Attend the Foundation’s May board meeting for the scholar welcome, May 12^th, 4-5 p.m. CST. Meetings are virtual via Zoom.
• Submit your most recent, official academic transcript by June 30th.
• Provide the Foundation with confirmation of your college enrollment for the upcoming academic year, including 1) an institutional acceptance/enrollment letter and basic contact information and 2) the institution’s academic calendar for the upcoming year by June 30^th.
• In collaboration with the podcast team of the Foundation, participate as a guest interviewee for the Foundation’s podcast “Thriving Starts Here” to be recorded between May and June. Approximate time commitment:  Two (2) 30-min prep meetings and one (1) 30-min podcast recording.
• In collaboration with the creative team of the Foundation, create and publish a social media post and story that promotes the podcast and includes tags of Beyond Pink Foundation within two weeks of the airing of the podcast episode.
• Provide the Foundation with complete contact and scholarship disbursement information for the college bursar by July 15^th.
• In collaboration with the leadership team of the Foundation, select a recognition-worthy breast cancer awareness topic, draft a written proclamation, and submit the proclamation request to the governor’s office of your preferred state no later than September 30th.
• In collaboration with the creative team of the Foundation, develop and publish a social media post for Giving Tuesday, highlighting scholarship funding opportunities for the Foundation, no later than one day prior to Giving Tuesday.

2027 Initiatives and Events

• Complete and submit the official Student Advocate Scholarship Evaluation Form by January 1^st.
• Submit your fall semester, official academic transcript to by January 10^th.
• Provide the Foundation with confirmation of your spring semester enrollment, as well as complete contact and scholarship disbursement information for the bursar/payment department of your college institution by January 10^th.
• Attend the Foundation’s May board meeting for the incumbent scholar farewell and new scholar welcome, May (date and time TBA). Meetings are virtual via Zoom.
• Submit your spring semester, official academic transcript to by June 15th.

Student Agreement
I understand that the scholarship disbursement is contingent upon fulfillment of the Scholarship Agreement and the timely and satisfactory completion of the above Schedule of Advocate Initiatives and Events as the Student Advocate Scholar. Failure to fulfill these requirements may result in the forfeiture of the scholarship. By signing below, I affirm my understanding and commitment to these responsibilities.
