We partner with cancer centers to provide customized curricula and training, on site or virtual, for their support programs that benefit breast cancer patients. In turn, the cancer centers are able to offer a volunteer support peer, who is matched as early as day one of the diagnosis with a breast cancer patient, providing on-going support and hope. This signature program serves a great need as it is a vastly underserved area of support at cancer centers.
We partner with schools, youth organizations, and cancer research institutions to educate and mobilize individuals to take action with us as we work toward improving outcomes and the quality of life for breast cancer patients. To accomplish this, we encourage careers in breast cancer science to advance research and save lives. The career exploration program includes a Day in the Life of a clinician & scientist with a breast cancer lab tour. Attracting more students to the oncology career field is critical for changing outcomes and the status quo.
We take a stand with community, regional, national, and global organizations that work toward education, prevention, and a cure and that advocate for better health coverage and services for breast cancer patients. Far too many fighters die every year. This disease will take the lives of more than 40,000 people in the U.S. alone and over 600,000 people worldwide this year.
